If I am your doctor in real life, this post pertains only to you!
My office practice location is moving back to Limerick.
I currently have office hours 2 days per week in PHoenixville and the rest of my time is in the hospitals. As of April 3 that changes. I will now have office hours 5 days per week, Monday through Friday. This will no doubt be a welcome for those of you were seeing me in Limerick a few years back and followed me to Phoenixville. If you live in Phoenixville, you will have to travel up 422 a few miles to see me now. I encourage you to continue to see me. If you can not make the trip to limerick, you are welcome to schedule your next office visit with one of the other docs or practitioners in the PMA group. I'll be sorry to see you go.
My new address is:
PMA Limerick:
410 W. Linfield-Trappe Rd.
Limerick, PA 19468

Extra-Virgin Olive Oil -EVOO has gotten the reputation not undeservedly that is extremely healthy. While true some food manufacturers have been putting into products with a lot of bad stuff. Case in point below. While there is some EVOO in the product so is harmful soy bean oil and sugars.  TIP: you can make this yourself without the cruddy ingredients.

How low is too low for LDL-c

For years the medical community has been at war with cholesterol. In the 50s and 60s it was total cholesterol that was thought to cause heart attacks. It was not found to be a reliable indicator of risk. We discovered some cholesterol containing particles (HDL)  were related to decreased risk of heart disease and some (LDL) increased. Drug companies developed drugs which lowered LDL pretty well.

I don't have to tell you that kids foods is awful. The whole category should be eliminated. Chicken fingers, mac n cheese, horrible. It doesn't have to be. My twitter pal, Dr Shawn Baker has the right idea. High quality proteins and fat, and non grain carbohydrates. No added sugar here.
