![]() I've discovered a new podcast! It's called LCHF Family and it's great! It's a podcast geared for living the low-carb lifestyle as a family. Making a big dietary change can be tough. Doing it alone is tougher. Eating is usually a social event. Usually the food purchasing for a house is made by one person. If everyone in the house is eating differently, things get really complicated. This Podcast which began earlier this year is hosted by a husband and wife team Adam and Ann. They have two daughters age 12 and 14 who also are frequent guest hosts. It's great to hear their perspective What they like and don't like. I have 3 daughter who are close in age so this podcast really strikes a chord for me personally. They were all struggling with weight and other health issues and LCHF has really been working well for them. Going Low-carb as a family unit is definitely the best way to go. I frequently identify patients who really need the benefits of LCHF. Diabetes, weight gain, lipid probles...the list goes on and on. Once I make my low-carb pitch to the patient in the office visit I will typically schedule a follow up within 4-6 weeks. My favorite story at follow up is this: "My husband/wife started doing it with me and he/she has lost ____ pounds already!" Getting kids on board can be a challenge especially with picky eaters and sugar addicts. Adam & Ann have one of them and they share their experience dealing with that situation. The first couple of episodes are about the basics of low- carb diet and lifestyle then they also discuss the tips and tricks take make living this way not only possible but also practical. I really appreciate the school lunch episode and eating out episodes. They tell you what their favorite recipes and the tricks to making them come out just right. They're not doctors and that's what makes this podcast great. They're normal people making the lifestyle work. I highly recommend LCHF Family Podcast. Enjoy! |
