Migranes & Diet
I know. You think it's too good to be true but many people who try keto for weight loss soon realize that their migraines also improves in frequency and intensity.
How? It is not really known. Remember, the ketogenic diet has been a proven diet for epilepsy for about a century now. Ketones also have been shown to assist with fueling the brains of alzheimer's patients too. Is it so far fetched that think that ketones may be a generally beneficial fuel for the brain and affect a wide range of neurologic conditions, including migraine. Rapid fluctuations of glucose and migraines that occur when eating a high carb diet can be enough to trigger migraines. The same thing occurs with Sodium and magnesium so getting enough regularly may also help. |
Struggling with migraines. Reliant on meds to control them? Listen to my friend, nutritionist Amy Berger explain why keto might help.
